Four-laning of near Satai Ghat (Darguwan) to Chowka (Matguwan) Section of NH-34 — a 55.125 km Hybrid Annuity Mode highway under construction across Sagar & Chhatarpur districts, Madhya Pradesh.
The Government of India, through the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), has entrusted the development, maintenance and four-laning of the Satai Ghat (Darguwan) to Chowka (Matguwan) section of NH-34 — from Design Chainage 89+875 (Existing Km 90.299) to Design Chainage 145+000 (Existing Km 143.663), a total length of 55.125 km — in the State of Madhya Pradesh, executed as Package-3.
The corridor forms part of the wider Kanpur–Sagar economic corridor, improving connectivity through Sagar and Chhatarpur districts, reducing travel time and vehicle operating costs, and strengthening the national highway network for the efficient movement of goods and passengers.
The project is being executed by M/s Sataighat Chowka Bageshwar VRS Highway Private Limited as Concessionaire, with construction carried out by Velji Ratna Sorathia Infra Pvt. Ltd. (VRS/VRSIPL) — part of the VRS Group of infrastructure companies engaged in highway, bridge and EPC construction across India.
On site, the VRS team is supported by a dedicated Independent Engineer — M/s Chaitanya Projects Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. in joint venture with M/s Geo Designs & Research Pvt. Ltd. — appointed by NHAI to supervise and certify the quality and progress of works.
Schedule-B of the Concession Agreement defines a full-spectrum four-laning scope — from earthwork and pavement to major structures and road-side facilities.
1 Fly Over and 22 underpasses — 10 VUP, 10 LVUP and 2 SVUP — for safe, grade-separated cross movement.
19 minor bridges — 11 retained & widened, 8 newly constructed — along the 55.125 km alignment.
41.83 km of service roads alongside the main carriageway, providing local access and safer traffic separation.
95 box & Hume pipe culverts and 44,938 running metres of RCC drain for effective cross-drainage.
